Wow, I took quite a break from blogging, didn’t I? 2012 was one of the busiest years that I can ever remember having and unfortunately, my love of makeup and blogging suffered. Don’t get me wrong, I still bought a LOT of beauty products, but I never reviewed them. I’m going to start doing some random swatches of my collection and then of course the new things I buy when I get them. Now onto the good stuff!
I have really thick, naturally curly & frizzy hair. Even when I blow dry and flat iron and it starts out all shiny and smooth, it’s almost impossible to control the frizz and keep it that way. So I was pretty excited to try AG Hair’s new product: Frizzproof Argan Anti-Humidity Spray. Here’s what the press release had to say about Frizzproof and then I’ll tell you my thoughts:
Frizz can wreak havoc on your hair, and up until now, products promising to fight it have been anything but effective. Enter AG’s new Frizzproof. Designed to shield hair from humidity by locking out moisture, this lightweight, protective aerosol keeps hair smooth, silky and most importantly frizz free.
“Without a doubt, frizz is the biggest hair concern we hear from consumers. There is nothing worse than slaving over your hair for hours only to have it ruined by humidity,” says Lotte Davis, Co-Founder and CEO of AG Hair. “Using Frizzproof is ta critical final step to any haircare regime focused on creating silky, smooth and soft hair.”
Frizzproof is the latest addition to AG’s Smooth Category, which includes six argan infused products. AG’s argan oil is sourced using sustainable farming methods and produced by local women of the Berber tribe in one of the poorest regions in Morocco. The income these women earn goes directly into their community, helping to provide food, shelter and eduction for these children and their families.
Okay so my thoughts: I really like this product. It’s very lightweight and doesn’t hold my hair down. My hair is heavy enough on it’s own so I certainly didn’t need something else to make it fall flat. It really does make my hair REALLY shiny and I love that. It’s not sticky at all, which is important. It doesn’t leave my hair stiff, either. The smell is pleasant. While I haven’t been able to use this product during the extreme humidity of summer, I am really confident in telling you that it DOES do what it claims to do. It works for me very well. My mom “borrowed” it too, and it also worked well for her. She asked me where she could buy some so that’s a sure sign that she loved it as much as I did.
AG’s Frizzproof Argan Anti-Humidity Spray can be found in salons across North America now! It retails for $24 US/CDN.

As I’m sure you can tell, I have been on a little blogging hiatus. I didn’t mean to, but I guess life just happened & got in my way. But I am back with a GORGEOUS collection from Bare Escentuals! They recently had four new Wanderlust kits come out and this one is the Bare Escentuals Wanderlust Rainforest Collection. The kit includes:

Today, I have China Glaze Material Girl for you! This polish is from the China Glaze Eye Candy 3D Glitter Collection. I don’t even have words for how much I am in love with this. It’s hard to render me speechless… but yeah, I am. However, for the sake of informing y’all, I’ll dig deep to find something to say!
The other day I wanted something fast… and usually when I want that, I reach for a glitter. They seem to dry faster AND if I smudge it a bit, it’s not as in your face as a creme/shimmery polish. This one did NOT disappoint. To my eye, it looks like it has round and hex shaped glitter in several different sizes and it really does look 3D… especially out in the sun. Take this girl outside and she’s will surely make you happy! In the pics, I’m wearing 2 coats plus OPI topcoat. I have nothing else to say… you’re just busy looking at the picture anyway!

It has been one heck of a long week!! I wanted to get this review posted sooner, but life got in the way. Silly life ;) But I am SUPER happy to tell you about this lotion now!!
Anybody who knows me knows that I’m a sucker for lotion. There are few things I hate more than my skin feeling dry and itchy! Being indoors a lot during winter with the heat on always makes my skin unbearably dry. Even the lotion I’d been using didn’t seem to be helping. I don’t know if your skin can get used to something… but mine needed something more.
Sooo imagine my delight when I was given the opportunity to try a new lotion from an up and coming brand – The Body Bartender created by the fabulous Heather Losik. I got The Body Bartender Peep Show firming lotion in the mail the other day. It’s & have been using it for a few days and I’m in LOVE. Let me tell you a little about it.
- What it IS: an all over body firming lotion. It’s formulation is NOT greasy and all and it absorbs into the skin really well. It is infused with natural extracts and caffeine and helps firm and tone skin.
- What it is formulated WITHOUT: Parabens, Sulfates, Petrochemicals, Triclosan
- This product is cruelty free! The cute little animals are not being harmed!
Okay so my thoughts. First, I LOVE the smell. It’s light and refreshing… not overpowering at all. There have been times when I put on lotion and went to bed only to wake up to a headache. That did NOT happen with this. This one is super yummy!
The packaging is SO SO SO cute. I mean, look at this… it’s FANTASTIC! Cute, sexy, girlie. LOVE.
My skin definitely did feel AND look smoother. It was hard to see my backside, but my arms truly did appear to be more firm. And my skin has been SO soft. Soft AND firm… who doesn’t want THAT?!
I would (and will!) definitely use this lotion again. I think it’s definitely worth trying. Go to their website and get it now!! It’s undergoing some construction now, but the upcoming site is something you are going to LOVE!
You are gonna want to place an order and if you spend $50 or more, you get FREE SHIPPING with the code beautyswatches! To get the special deal, e-mail email@example.com and tell her I sent ya!
I have a couple more products from The Body Bartender to review and those are coming SOON!

Today I have China Glaze Riveting from the Hunger Games Capitol Color Collection. It’s a REALLY bright and loud orange. I apologize for the fact that you can see the visible nail line here… I could not see it in person and then I looked at the picture and was like whoa. Looks like someone forgot to scrub under her nails, huh? I assure you, I did not. Anyway, this polish was hard to get a good picture of. I tried for quite a while but this was the best of the bunch. It took me 3 coats to get this coverage level. I didn’t use a top coat.. forgot. I applied one after I took the pictures and it didn’t make much of a difference… a bit more shiny, but not much. It was pretty shiny on it’s own. If you click on the picture, you can make it bigger and see more detail in the color.
I wanted to love this one. I really did. The application was not very smooth and even after three coats, it just didn’t look great to me. Maybe I’ll try again, but this is not one of my favorites from the China Glaze Hunger Games Capitol Color Collection

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but I have been in quite a blogging slump. I’ve had the China Glaze Hunger Games Capitol Colors Collection for 3 weeks now and I’m just getting around to posting them. There’s no way I’m doing them all in one day… mostly because I’m almost out of nail polish remover!
I had never even heard of The Hunger Games until I started hearing rumors about this nail polish collection. I picked up all three of the books and recently read the first one. I read it in just a few hours… could not put it down. I have not started on the second one yet, but that’s coming soon! I’m SO excited that the movie is out. It looks like it’s gonna be kick ass!
So ANYWAY… swatch number 1 of 12 is China Glaze Fast Track! This is one of my favorites of the collection. Mind you, I have not worn them all yet, but just from looking at them in the bottle and all of the other swatches of them that I’ve seen… yeah, one of my favorites. It’s a taupe/beige base with gold shimmer. To my eye, it looks a LITTLE flaky. If you click on the picture, you can see the color really well!
Stay tuned because I’m going to do a polish per day until I’ve swatched the entire collection!
